Christmas: A Scrooge(ish) View

[Note, I am aware I did not do horror, but I will soon, I just wanted to do a xmas themed post today.]

"Santa Claus is coming, to town...!". That song, is what basically shaped modern Christmas as we know it. I did some research on the topic of santa claus, and it appears he is less than 100 years old. Contradictory to the movie " Arthur Christmas", which states that santa has been around for hundreds of years, in reality, he was originally just an old christmas tale, like frosty or Rudolph from today. Once the song "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" was written (around 1930), his popularity skyrocketed. Now for the actual topic, the true meaning of Christmas. Yes, you have heard about 20 different holiday specials say a very similar thing, to be nice to others and be with you family, or something around those lines. Yes, this is a good moral, and we should all do it around this time of year, but is that the true meaning of this huge holiday? Let's star with the Santa fact, less than 100 years old, but one song, made him a huge icon, and a huge factor in industry. If santa never had become as famous as he is today, the whole holiday, originally about the birth of Christ, might be forgotten. More importantly to the companies making all the santa and Christmas themed products, no extra money.(Warning, the next stuff might be a bit more Scrooge-like than I wish it to be.) Why do big companies love Christmas, more things being bought, of course. But the current Christmas, not the religious version, was basically created because of industry(music). The Christmas songs, the christmas gifts, the icons, all made by companies. So the true meaning of this holiday? I don't think there is a meaning to this holiday, but a reason. Companies just want to make more money. Now wait, I still have one more thing to talk about before you get mad at me for trying to ruin Christmas. Why do I, and everyone else, go along with this huge marketing "trick" It's because everyone wins. Children don;t have to pay for all/most of the gifts and merchandise around Christmas, so they are happy. But why are the adults happy?(Scrooge-ness ends here) Two reasons. One, they most likely have a job or are married to someone who has one, a lot of them are probably doing something that has Christmas themed things, so more money for them. But the other reason is that well, just like students do, they get some time of work for the holiday, even if they don't celebrate, so this holiday usually just makes everyone pretty happy. Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, and hate the endless attack of Christmas related merchandise, you cans still enjoy they pleasant and usually happy, time of year. Oh, I almost forgot, Merry Christmas(Or Hanukah or Kwanza or whatever you celebrate)!

[Another note, a lot of the views expressed here are my opinion and not solid fact, so don't say that it is not true, because you can't say that about opinion, just like if you said something different than what I said]

Boredom: Yes, this blog still exists.

So the blog title says that I have no clue how often I am making posts to the blog, so I think it will be mostly monthly or whenever I feel like it. This topic boredom, after being suggested the most by the readers, is finally ready to be spoken of. It's funny, I was going to make this post when I was bored, to be in the right mindset, but I never did, and now I am not bored, but still writing this. So did you know that blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and that is how cows NOW YOU ARE BORED OF THIS POST. I almost can guarantee it, and if you just read the blue text because it was blue and stuff(and caps), so start reading the whole thing again, and come back when you are bored. Ok, now that you are bored, let us begin. Why do we get bored? I believe that because we are human, we always want to learn and expand our horizons(at least the innovative ones), so we always want to be doing that all the time. But when you can't do that, or do the same thing to much, say read "blah blah blah" over and over, you become bored. But is it avoidable? Fixable? Are humans even ever truly bored? I mean, if you had to sit in a blank room for 12 hours, to earn $1000, could you do it without getting bored out of your mind? Yes, yes you could. How? Thought. For even an hour alone, you could spend the time imagining what you were going to do with the $1000 dollars. Then, you could make up a whole story. Then you could create a new game, all in a empty white room. So I think that boredom does not mean you have run out of ideas of things to do, or simply things to do, but you are stuck, stuck at a point that is not allowing you to think up those new ideas of things to do, to keep yourself busy. If you need to clear your mind to think of Anti-Boredom ideas, try meditating, and if you do it without getting bored, the you succeed! Until next time(which will probably be very soon this time),

Chance, Probability, and Luck. Why You Should Not Exist.

Yes, about 15 minutes into starting the blog, my first post is already being typed. The whole reason this blog exists, is because I thought to myself, "I wanna write about luck and chance, but where?" And a blog is born! Now what was the chance, of me thinking of that idea, and making it reality? First, I had to get my parent's ok to make the blog, so about a 50% chance. Now the idea? Out of all the ideas ever possible, that makes the chance of this blog existing much lower. Now my birth. We have to go back, way back, to 13.8 billion years ago. The universe was formed. And though the billions of years, somehow, one planet was lucky enough to have simple organisms, a very low chance, considering all the conditions(distance to closest star, water, atmosphere). Then, life had to, by chance, evolve into a species known as Homo Sapiens, so even lower chance. Then, every event ever in human history decided who was born, when, and how. Even the death of a bug or someone getting a cold, it most likely changed a part of history in the future. So somehow, I came to exist, and then I randomly thought of the idea for this post and blog, and then I did it. So the fact that this planet supports basic life, is just astonishing(considering the likelihood). But your and my existence? Almost impossible. But yet, it is true, you exist, I exist, a bunch of almost impossible things exist. So be happy that you exist, and feel grateful for every good thing, and realize that every bad, or good thing that ever happened to you, is lucky, bad or good luck, that you can decide. So what will the next topic be? And when? Only chance will decide!

Intro, I believe it is needed.

Hi reader, this post will be short and simple but I just want to explain what this whole blog is about. It's not life updates or any normal blog thing, but it is about thought, on the universe and our planet(as the title shows).  Basically, I talk about the big, small, and ugly pictures of concepts such as time, humanity, competition, luck, and so on. So get ready for long, odd, and deep(ish) posts about life, the universe, and everything!
